The first episode aired on September 13, 1969, and it was broadcasted for Hanna-Barbera Productions which were the descendant of today’s much known Warner Bros. Animation. The start of the Scooby doo movie shows one of the most important events and that is how Norville Roggers aka Shaggy met Scooby-Doo. Shaggy was having fun on the beach minding his business while eating a sandwich and then he was approached by a lost puppy. He immediately saw that the pup was friendly and also hungry so he gave him a piece of his sandwich. Besides the sandwich, Shaggy had Scooby snacks beside him on the blanket that he was sitting on. Shortly after they’ve met a policeman came and said that he will take that the stray puppy. Shaggy immediately responded and said that he wasn’t stranded and claimed that the puppy was his. Cop asked the name of the dog so the only thing he could’ve to think is the name of the snacks he was having, that being Scooby snacks, so the pup became known as Scooby. Shaggy took him home and the story shows them becoming best pals, growing up together, having fun, and also getting into trouble. Growing up they meet with Velma, Daphne, and Fred on Halloween and decided to trick or treat some haunted house. They were jump scared by a ghost which they’ve later figured out that it was just a masked thief Mr. Rigby.

They were so excited that they’ve solved a mystery so they wanted to do it again so the Mystery inc. was created. Later they were approached by a sponsor that will provide them with the gear and equipment they needed but the investor didn’t like Shaggy and Scooby, he thought that they weren’t so useful so they were left out. Later that day they were attacked by robots that belonged to a criminal named Dick Dastardly. Luckily they were saved by Dynomutt, Dee Dee Skyes, and the Blue Flacon.

Together they figure out that the evil villain was planning on kidnapping Scooby so he could use him to open the gates to the Underworld and free his dog Muttley who was trapped there for stealing ancient treasures. Luckily Mystery inc. came to help and together they managed to stop Dick Dastardly take him into jail and close the gate to the Underworld without sacrificing Shaggy.

Conclusion:

Scoob 2020 was a little different than the other spinoffs and series, showing us how well the Mystery inc. the gang could cooperate with a superhero team which is a good choice considering superhero movies are one of the most popular genres at this time. Also, the superhero characters were from Hanna-Barbera Productions. It didn’t change the base of the old Scooby Doo movies, there was still a mystery to be solved and the most important thing, the gang still ended up together proving that friendship will still prevail.
